NWSSP on behalf of Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB) intends to Direct Award a contract to the Weishaupt (UK) Ltd for the provision of Service maintenance of Weishaupt burners at Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda and Royal Glamorgan Hospital.

This is justified under:
Schedule 5, Paragraph 6 – absence of competition for technical reasons; and
Schedule 5, Paragraph 7 – where a change of supplier would result in incompatibility or disproportionate technical difficulties.
The contractor is the incumbent and provides specialist, manufacturer-led servicing of Weishaupt systems across the sites. Due to recent capital upgrades and reliance on proprietary components and expertise, no reasonable alternative suppliers exist.
A change in supplier would create a high risk of incompatibility, operational disruption, and non-compliance.
