The Council currently manages City Highways and Street lighting work using AppInterface, a solution made up of individual applications largely hosted on-premises, with data stored in an SQL database. The Spoils module is an exception, hosted separately as a standalone website for recording waste materials. In line with our cloud first policy, an on-premises solution is no longer acceptable. A new SaaS or cloud solution is required, which may involve adapting and migrating the current system. Meanwhile, the existing on-premises system must be maintained to remain operational and secure. Additionally, integration with the new Highways system, Alloy, via a new API will need to be configured within the AppInterface system.
