These systems support improved patient outcomes through enhanced surgical precision, reduced tissue trauma, shorter recovery periods, reduced length of stay and increased theatre efficiency. They are utilised extensively across the orthopaedic theatres at the University Hospital of Wales and University Hospital Llandough, supporting both elective and trauma pathways. A key element of this procurement is the requirement for a specialist hip arthroscopy solution. CAVUHB provides a specialist hip arthroscopy service not only for its own resident population but also for patients referred from outside the Health Board area. Maintaining this service is therefore important both regionally and nationally, ensuring timely access to specialist orthopaedic interventions for patients across Wales. Any disruption to the service would have a direct impact on patient pathways, waiting times and the Health Board's ability to meet its commissioned service requirements.—
