Description

NCC looking to appoint contractors to deliver support to our Housing team to supply, install and provide maintenance services for stairlifts, hoists and other Disabled Access Equipment in housing across our Nottingham City Council boundaries.

This Notice is published in accordance with the Procurement Act 2023 to forewarn the market of a future tender opportunity, and does not require any action from potential bidders at this time.

When the tender goes live a further notice will be published giving details. The tender will be published on the Councils e-tendering platform which can be found at https://www.eastmidstenders.org.

1Supply and Install of Specialist Mechanical Lifting EquipmentThrough the Client (NCC Adaptation and Renewal Agency) there are then between 80-170 new installations of Specialist Mechanical Lifting Equipment per year (based on installation data from 2021 to present). This is based on the needs of residents as advised by an Occupational Therapy assessment. An internal framework of providers is being sought to cover the range of different equipment types, makes and models.£2,500,000
2Servicing, Maintenance and Repair of Specialist Mechanical Lifting EquipmentThe Client currently has 884 pieces of specialised domestic lifting equipment (correct as at 4 June 2026) installed for residents across the portfolio of a range of type, manufacturer, age and condition. This is equipment is broken down as follows: • Approximately 722 straight or curved stairlifts - Manufacturers include (but not limited to) Handicare, Meditek, Minivator, Platinum, Stannah and Thyssen • Approximately 97 ceiling track hoists - Manufacturers include (but not limited to) Chiltern, Likorail, Freeway and Wessex • Approximately 53 through floor lifts - Manufacturers include (but not limited to) Pollock, Terry Lifts and Wessex • Approximately 12 step lifts - Manufacturers include (but not limited to) Spectra, Terry Lifts and Wessex It is to be expected that over the Contract Period the above quantities will change. Any properties or equipment added or deleted (in writing) will be deemed to become part of the Contract. In addition, the Contractor would complete all removals and storage of existing equipment to be used for recycling (or stripped for spares and repairs dependant on the condition of the unit). An internal framework of providers is being sought to complete the required servicing, repairs and maintenance.£600,000
