Lot 20 - Planned and Ad-Hoc Roofing Replacements to Various Properties Throughout the District of Ashfield, Nottinghamshire

Nottinghamshire County Council (the Council) is seeking tenders, on behalf of Ashfield District Council (ADC) ,

Further Competition Under the Dynamic Purchasing System for Minor Construction Works and Maintenance

The Contractor shall be responsible for the design of roof covering replacements (pitched, mono-pitch or flat roof) and associated works, including alterations/repairs to the roof structure, rainwater goods, gutter and downpipes, including the design of any associated structural works required associated with any changes in load etc.

The Contractor shall supply and install replacement roof coverings to meet the needs of each and every individual property to which they are installed, together with the requirements of all relevant Regulations, Legislation, British Standard, best practice and manufacturer's instructions etc. and the criteria below, including:

• Replacement roof coverings (see Design Criteria - Roof Coverings).
• Adequate ventilation.
• Replacement soffit and fascia boarding.
• Replacement flashings, valleys and bonding gutters.
• Replacement gutters and downpipes (see Design Criteria - Rainwater Disposal Systems below);
• Associated works - including maintaining existing mechanical extract fan terminations.
• Maintaining the integrity of party-walls, fire barriers, compartment walls and the like.
• Works to flues, including the removal of disused flues.
• Works to chimneys, including the removal of disused chimneys.
• Thermal performance (see Design Criteria - Thermal Insulation below).
• Removing, temporary re-siting and permanent fixing of TV aerials, telephone cables and satellite dishes etc.
• Abutments with adjacent properties and roof coverings.
• Associated plumbing, drainage and electrical works.
