Description
Thanks to a Wildlife Rich Habitat grant from DEFRA we plan to begin the restoration of Gun Moor, delivering an important step forward for nature recovery in the Peak District. Gun Moor is a 81ha upland mix of habitats on the western edge of the Peak District National Park.
This project focusses on a series of grip and surface drainage channel blocking on areas of deep peat with the aim of re-wetting the peatland. A mixture of 448 peat and stone interventions will be installed to rewet the moorland
