Description
The Authority requires Material Re-Processing Services for Dry Recycling and engaged the market earlier this year to receive feedback on various aspects of this opportunity under UK2 notice 2026/S 000-067223 (ocds-h6vhtk-05d5be). The authority now requires additional information to gain further understanding of the current market and review their contract options.
The Authority has its own Waste Transfer Station, located at Warley Depot, Brentwood, CM13 3BH.
Kerbside collected recyclables from households are delivered to this depot and are currently transferred to individual re-processors in their separate material streams.:
- PAPER AND CARDBOARD (currently collected loose from reusable sacks) - 2307 tonnes collected in 2025/2026
- CANS AND PLASTICS (currently collected loose from reusable sacks) - 808 tonnes collected in 2025/2026
- MIXED GLASS (currently collected separately from boxes) - 1592 tonnes collected in 2025/2026
(Collections take place on alternate weeks)
