Description
Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery Trust (the Trust) in Carlisle (brand name: Tullie) is seeking an experienced Mount Making Specialist to plan and deliver the mount making of a new 'Central Sculpture' within a new 'Active Gallery', as part of Project Tullie Phase 3: Breaking Down Barriers.
The Central Sculpture will be suspended above a seating area with integrated object display, and the objects above need to have coherency with the displays on the plinths beneath. We are looking for a professional(s) who can bring their expertise and creativity to deliver playful floating displays, through discreet object mounts. The displays will include a selection of Tullie's collection and may also involve set dressing, with the intended result being an impressive "wow" moment within the visitor journey. This brief encompasses the mount making for both the objects displayed by suspension and those fixed to these plinths. The specialist must have experience with engineering, designing, fabrication and installation of museum-grade object mounts. They must also be able to work with the curatorial and project team to take the concept vision through to full delivery within the timeframes stated.
