This notice confirms the Health Board’s intention to award a contract under the competitive process, subject to completion of the applicable standstill period. This is an existing service, and the intended award is to the existing provider. The service provides assessment, treatment planning, conscious sedation and dental treatment for children, young people and adults who require sedation to facilitate dental care due to anxiety, disability, medical conditions or complex clinical needs. The provider will be responsible for delivering safe, effective and high-quality care, supported by robust clinical governance, quality assurance and patient safety arrangements. The service aims to improve access to dental treatment within a community setting, reduce reliance on hospital-based services and support the delivery of care closer to home. The service will also support patient experience, continuous improvement, workforce development, sustainability and wider social value outcomes. Subject to satisfactory completion of the standstill period, the contract is intended to commence on 1st November 2026 for an initial period of one year, with the option to extend for a further two years in 12-month increments. The intended maximum contract period is therefore 1st November 2026 to 31st October 2029, should both extension options be exercised.—
