Retail Telecommunications Maintenance Services Extension and Associated Renewal Works

East Midlands Railway intends to directly award a time-limited contract to Hitachi Rail GTS UK Limited for the continued provision of Retail Telecommunications Maintenance Services and associated renewal works across the EMR network.

The services support critical customer-facing systems including Customer Information Systems (CIS), Passenger Announcement (PA) systems, roaming microphones and associated telecommunications infrastructure.

The contract will provide:

Planned preventative maintenance

Corrective and reactive maintenance

24/7 fault support and helpdesk services

Asset management and reporting

Replacement and renewal of identified CIS and PA assets

Installation and commissioning of specified renewal works

The contract also includes:

Display renewals at 10 EMR stations

PAPC replacements at 25 EMR stations

Screen replacements at Newark Castle and Mansfield stations

Burton station roaming microphone installation

The proposed arrangement is limited to 12 months and is required to maintain continuity of service whilst EMR completes and mobilises a competitive procurement for a long-term replacement contract.
