The Scottish Prison Service (SPS) requires a suitably qualified multidisciplinary supplier to prepare three (3) Conservation Strategies for selected historic assets across its estate. The commission will cover the following sites: HMP Barlinnie (Glasgow), HMP Castle Huntly (near Dundee) and HMP Perth (Perth). The work will include (but is not limited to):
- Review of baseline information and historic development
- Building and fabric surveys
- Structural appraisal input
- Significance assessments
- Condition surveys and defect registers
- Preparation of marked-up drawings showing significance and risk
- Development of prioritised action plans (short to long term)
- Maintenance and operational guidance for estates teams
- Advice on statutory consent and engagement with Historic Environment Scotland and planning authorities
- Site-specific conservation policies
The outputs will comprise three Conservation Strategies, one per site, supported by drawings, action plans, and guidance documents.
