Description
Devon County Council is commissioning a Targeted Peer-Led Delivery of Needle and Syringe Provision and Harm Reduction Service. The Service seeks to reduce alcohol and other drug-related harm across Devon by leveraging the unique insights and trust of individuals with lived experience of substance use. Its primary aim is to provide an accessible, non-judgmental harm reduction service - including needle and syringe provision, Naloxone distribution, wound care, and blood-borne virus testing, through a peer-led model. By empowering peers to deliver education, support, and outreach, the Service's objectives are to decrease the transmission of blood-borne viruses, prevent overdoses, promote safer drug use practices, and foster a supportive community environment that encourages engagement with treatment and health services.
