The Service:

To provide and manage the metered standpipe hire process to Yorkshire Water customers

• Buy, stock, advertise and supply the hire of metered standpipe use in the Yorkshire region.
• Have the ability to maintain, refurbish, clean and disinfect returned standpipes ready for re-issue.
• Gather consumption details and invoice applicants for the volume of water used and the hire

charge.

• Support the delivery of our Performance Commitments in the area of Water Quality,

Discolouration Contacts & Interruptions to Supply.

• Train, coach and support the correct use of standpipes and associated network operation to

support Yorkshire Waters "Calm Networks" initiative (aimed at preventing surges and damage to

the distribution network).

• Manage and police illegal network interventions by helping the Client prosecute illegal users.
• Provide management data as appropriate.

standpipes in connection with their roles in maintaining our water and waste networks).
