Vehicle Removal Service

The Council has a statutory duty to remove vehicles from the public highway in accordance with relevant legislation, including enforcement, scrappage and auction requirements. The service supports road safety, traffic management, parking compliance, and the removal of abandoned or hazardous vehicles.

The Council is currently reviewing long-term delivery options, including bringing the service in-house, which would require investment in specialist removal vehicles and consideration of TUPE implications, or undertaking a full reprocurement exercise. A short-term award to Marston Holdings will ensure continuity of this critical service while providing sufficient time to complete the review and implement the most appropriate long-term solution.
