W5076 The provision of Enforcement Services Against Untaxed Vehicles

"Walsall Council has been given devolved powers by the DVLA and therefore has the legal responsibility to take enforcement action on untaxed vehicles within the Borough.

There are a high number of untaxed vehicles on the roads in Walsall with no keeper details and we are therefore unable to enforce our parking and moving traffic debts without registered keeper details to send the PCNs out to. The DVLA service sits alongside Parking Enforcement and allows better collection rates for PCNs to be achieved by not having so many enquiries returned to the Council as DVLA No Trace.

This helps reduce criminal activity in the local community supporting the Police and the DVLA in removing nuisance vehicles who may also be involved in criminal activity from the highway."
